The grand celebration of the first anniversary of the installation of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was marked with great fervor and devotion. Devotees enthusiastically participated in spiritual rites and cultural performances held in honour of this auspicious occasion.

Ram Mandir: A Symbol of Faith

The majestic Ram Mandir is located in Ayodhya, which is considered by scriptures to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. According to Hindu customs, the idol of Ram Lalla was placed on January 22, 2024, on the auspicious day of Pran Pratishtha. The first anniversary this year was observed on January 11, 2025, which corresponds with the Hindu Panchang’s list of auspicious days.

In 2024, during the month of Paush, on the Dwadashi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha, the Pran Pratishtha ritual was held. Nonetheless, January 11 was selected as the celebration day in 2025 as the same Tithi happened on that day. Astrological calculations that guaranteed the alignment of 10 auspicious yogas—which are said to increase the spiritual benefits of worship—guided this change.

Three-Day Festivities in Ayodhya

Three days, from January 11 to January 13, 2025, were dedicated to the anniversary festivities at Ayodhya. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did a revered Abhishek and Puja of Ram Lalla to begin the magnificent occasion. The religious activities began with the puja, which was performed on January 11 at 10 AM.

A slew of religious and cultural activities brought the city to life. Devotees and pilgrims from all around the nation came to participate in the rites and offer prayers. The reading of Ramayana poems, colourful decorations, and melodic bhajans all contributed to the joyous atmosphere.

Ramraj Utsav Yatra in Lucknow

To mark this important anniversary, the Sitaram Parivar in Lucknow arranged a Ramraj Utsav Yatra. Before coming to an end at the Ram Janki Temple in Tikait Rai Talab, the parade began at Bajrang Nagar, New Haiderganj, and travelled via important sites such Rajajipuram Taxi Stand, MIS Chauraha, and Kothari Bandhu Park.

The exquisitely crafted tableaux of Lord Ram and Shiva-Parvati, which enthralled observers, were the yatra’s high point. Along the way, flowers were thrown, and devotees celebrated by dancing and singing. The joyful atmosphere was enhanced by the presence of State General Secretary Jai Anand and Sitaram Parivar President Sunny Sahu.

Significance of the Celebration

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony’s anniversary represents the unwavering belief and dedication of millions of Hindus throughout the world. The elaborate preparations and the well-chosen date demonstrated the great respect for Lord Ram and the desire to preserve the customs.

The celebrations strengthened the spiritual and cultural importance of the Ram Mandir, a symbol of religion and national togetherness, as devotees participated in the cultural events and offered prayers.
